We were looking for a destination with a short travel time and a mild climate in early spring. We chose Madeira, the island of flowers.
We stayed in Funchal and explored different parts of the island during the vacation. That was easy because the island is small. But the road trips itself were a bit challenging: some mountain roads are difficult to navigate. But we made it and visited many interesting places. And we were really lucky with the weather: it was most of the time sunny and over 20 degrees.
